When we’re not designing new builds, our clients come to us looking for solutions to dysfunctional layouts in their current home designs. This project had a poorly planned kitchen layout that featured awkward angles and dead spaces in cabinetry. By opening up a non load bearing wall, we were able to incorporate a large island while still creating space for more formal meal times. The use of integrated appliances and a cooler color palette gave these clients the modern streamlined look they were envisioning. Smart lifestyle solutions were also incorporated such as a command centre installed into a shallow cabinet space and all tech gear hidden into a secret opening in the front of the new custom mantle and fireplace surround. New flooring, updated furnishings and decor helped elevate these rooms from simple to sophisticated.
